Observation on the Spain’s resolve to deal with the debt crisis, first drafted on Dec. 5,

Do you still remember the early 80s of the last century? Do you recall how then President Reagan made use of
military personnel to break the unlawful strike of civil air traffic controllers? And do you also remember how this
measure marked a turning point in the introduction of supply side economics in the US?
Well, if you can remember all that than you might be able to agree with us when we claim that this week’s steely
response by the Spanish government to its own air traffic controller strike constitutes an equally important game
changer in the defense of the EURO as Mr. Reagan’s resolve did at the time to impose his Reagonomics. After all,
this is the first time in modern Spanish history that a democratically elected government has declared a state of
emergency: So it should be clear to union members and short sellers alike now that this government will do what it
takes to overcome the current debt crisis and thereby save the EURO currency from collapse.
